Dengue fever is a mosquito- borne viral illness prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions, caused by the dengue virus and transmitted primarily by AEDES mosquitoes .

SYMPTOMS

Symptoms typically appear 4 to 10 days after an infected mosquito bite and last for 2 to 7 days .
* High fever
* Severe headache and pain behind the eyes
* Severe joint, bone and muscle ache
* Nausea and vomiting
* Swollen glands and skin

TREATMENT & RECOVERY

There is no specific antiviral meidcation or cure for dengue fever . Management focuses on symptom relief , which includes rest, hydration and using pain relievers .
